Dialogical writing: academic writing start with a good conversation

Workshop
10:45-12:15
Room: Maskeradezaal
Language: Nederlands

By Renske Bouwer.

How do you prevent students from having their text written by generative AI? Not by stricter rules, but rather by encouraging the development of students' writing. After all, a real writer has something to say with their text, and does not leave that to an automatic text generator.

With dialogical writing, writers keep control by asking questions to readers and discussing bottlenecks in their process. This makes them aware of the reader's perspective and makes them look at their own texts more critically.

During the workshop, we will use fragments of text discussions to work out how you can successfully implement dialogical writing in your own teaching.
