Uncover the hidden curriculum!
Jasper van Vught, Debbie Cole, Gemma Corbalan & Aengus Schulte
Do you want to become more aware of your own implicit behavioural patterns and expectations in your classroom? Do you want to learn what you are already doing in the target domain of socialisation? In this workshop, we will delve into the unwritten social and cultural rules that speak from the routines, rituals, and institutional structures in our education system. We share student experiences and discuss the potential impact of the hidden curriculum on undesirable socialisation processes and matters of inequality.
Finally, we will have you playfully reflect on how the hidden curriculum takes shape in your own teaching, and offer initial tools for making the implicit explicitly visible.
