Supportive Classrooms@UU: Reinforce students' sense of belonging
Gemma Corbalan & Maartje van der Molen
When students feel that teachers care for and support them, it promotes their well-being and study performance. Moreover, by doing so, together we create a university where students feel at home and where everyone is welcome.
During this workshop, we take you with us into Supportive classrooms@UU! Supportive and caring relationships are central to this and together we will discover what can help you as a teacher to better support students. During this interactive session, we will discuss the theory of sense of belonging and pedagogical caring and practice with case studies. This will give you concrete tools you can immediately apply in your role as a teacher.
